The Midnight Mystery Theater (MMT) is a live-read radio style comedy troupe that brings you original mysterys written by John Ruoff performed LIVE in Seattle and around the Pacific Northwest. The shows include a variety of talented actors, LIVE sound effects and often LIVE music from The Cheese Adjusters (our MMT musicians!)!
Playing shows frequently around Seattle and the Puget Sound, check out our semi-regular shows at C&P Coffee in West Seattle, Couth Buzzard in Greenwood and Maple Valley Creative Arts Center in Maple Valley, Washington. With regular players such as John Ruoff himself, Chris Mathews, Dean T. Moody, Gail Wamba, Ryan Asbert and more great local voice talents, it’s a fun tribute to radio theater with a goofy twist!
MMT germinated from The Tricano Desales Show; a live variety talk show which ran weekly at an off campus pub for Seattle University students called the Sundance Tavern in 1984. Hosted by James Goldsmith, co-hosted by Matthew Hoover, Brian Goldsmith and John Ruoff as the comedy writing staff and John Ruoff as the announcer. A bold, experimental comedy show featuring the newly formed Theater Sports improvisational troupe (still active), local stand up comedians and celebrities topped off with a game show and a musical guest.
Check out the MMT site for current events, up to date information and posting of recorded shows to enjoy, too!
